Our late afternoon sun is intense and golden. A color that looks perfect in the showroom at the paint store can look completely different at 4 PM in July on the south side of your house.
What I tell homeowners: Buy a quart of your top choice. Paint a 2x2-foot section on the actual wall. Watch it at 8 AM, noon, 4 PM, and after dark with the porch light on. If it looks right in all four lights, you have your color.
